Handcrafted with love and care, each fruit cake comes wrapped in biodegradable cellophane, hand tied with bakers twine and packaged in its own gorgeous tin which can be used over and over again for all sorts of things, especially for a Tipple Tails refill!

Ginger

Did you know that ginger is a flowering plant with tall, narrow leaves and yellow flowers? The fiery spice with a distinctive, lemony aroma comes from the root of the plant. Originally from China, the plant spread to the Spice Islands and from there to India and Europe. Apart from giving our food a mouth-warming, delicious tingle, ginger spice is well known for its anti-inflammatory properties and is often recommended to ease queasiness and soothe the joints.

Walnuts

Complementing the fiery ginger are creamy walnuts. Dating back to 7000BC, walnuts are the oldest tree food known to man. The walnut was known as the 'Royal Nut' as it was often reserved for royalty. The clever walnut tree oozes chemicals into the soil which stops other plants from growing near it.

Fruit Cake and Cheese

Why not try a soft, luxurious, creamy blue-veined cheese with the Ginger Tingle? We love the mellow Yorkshire Blue with a peppery finish, or the sweet and nutty Stichelton from Nottinghamshire.

    I really enjoyed this delicious moist fruit cake with a fiery hit of ginger. Ginger is one of my favourite flavours and this cake is packed with big juicy pieces. Was meant to share but had to eat it all myself.

    We had a delicious Ginger Tingle cake sent to my mother as her birthday cake , she loves ginger , and certainly wasn’t disappointed ! Superbly gingery , moist and bursting with flavour !     A hot May day in the garden……and guess what!? Your Ginger Tingle fruit cake is STILL wonderful. Outside, all sharing cake and coffee and the tingle is superb – your creation really suits a sunny day as well as a chilly midwinter day. The aroma tempts you from the first moment! We first tried your Ginger Tingle cake via a birthday hamper sent from the award-winning Urban Pantry hampers in Sheffield, two award-winning Sheffield food specialists made it a very special birthday!
