There were two birthday celebrations in the Tipple Tails house last week. The first being my youngest daughter turning 20! (where did the time go!!!). And the second on Saturday Urban Pantry at Crookes, the first outlet to stock Tipple Tails cakes, celebrated their first year of trading.
Both events were family affairs. Urban Pantry owners, Reece and Grace Lippolis, have two! They have the invaluable support of their own family and over the last year have been building a growing community family in the Sheffield suburb of Crookes.
Reece and Grace are proud to support local producers in the region and particularly Sheffield producers.
Yorkshire is renowned for its excellent food and Urban Pantry revels in giving their customers the highest quality, locally sourced products from the region.
The couple work sensitively and supportively with local producers in order to bring them the best they have to offer.
What a difference in weather one year on! Saturday saw Sheffield coated in a generous portion of snow and the suburb of Crookes, being on top of one of the seven hills, got a large serving!
The snow had a positive effect on business with local residents unable to take their cars out, more donned boots, hats and gloves and enjoyed their local shops.
With the provenance of food and supporting the local economy being such hot topics in the news at the moment, Urban Pantry is perfectly placed to supply a burgeoning demand for good quality, local food and provides a great addition to the character of the Crookes retail community.
Reece said, “we were so bowled over by the enthusiasm we saw on our launch day one year ago and we’re happy to say that we feel very much a part of Crookes now and enjoy chatting to the wonderful residents every day.”
